CLIMATE MEDIA INTERNSHIP (PAID)
The Years Project (YEARS) is a 501c(3) nonprofit, Emmy award-winning climate media company focused on educating and engaging audiences to take action for the environment.
We are currently seeking passionate and talented candidates to participate in our remote 2024 internship program.
YEARS seeks qualified remote interns to master these tasks and more:
- Populate our flagship product, INSIDE THE MOVEMENT (ITM.earth)
- Scan, filter and synthesize daily climate news and information
- Monitor climate content on social platforms
- Write and edit copy for ITM and other video projects
- Transcribe original interviews and log video footage
- Collaborate in the writing and editing process of both ITM and video projects
- Participate in Writers' Rooms
- Help us with digital maintenance, data entry and quality control
- Research and author blog posts that can be published on YEARS' website
- Practice skillful and effective communication
- Learn in a professional environment and explore career paths
Qualifications:
- You must be either a recent graduate with (or undergraduate pursuing) a four-year degree at a college or university in one of the following or related disciplines: Environmental Sciences/Studies, Communications, Journalism, Media/Digital Media.
- All applicants must have experience related to the climate crisis and/or YEARS' work – creating the best content about climate change using the most effective communications strategies.
- Ability to work via Zoom, Slack, email and phone during designated hours as this is a fully remote internship, conducted entirely online.
- All applicants must be available for an approximate total of 16-20 hrs/wk during the windows of 9am-5pm ET, Monday-Friday, even for those not in the eastern time zone. Some flexibility will be accommodated.
- Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States
- The internship is a paid position at $15/hour.
