Volkswagen, Toyota and Volvo all made big announcements about their plans to build clean, climate-friendly electric cars.
But if they want to go green, why are they also fighting fuel-efficiency standards?
These three automakers are members of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, which wants to overturn rules that would cut tailpipe pollution and save drivers money. They’re betting that in the short-term, they can still profit more off of gas-guzzlers, even if it’s at the cost of the climate and human health.
This week, call these companies out, and tell them to stop driving backwards on climate. Ask Toyota, Volvo and WV to pull out of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers’ campaign to weaken fuel-efficiency standards. Call or tweet them TODAY
