All across the country, school buses burning diesel fuel are exposing school kids to toxic fumes, while at the same time contributing to climate change. Earlier this month, Senators Kamala Harris, Jeff Merkley, Cory Booker, Tina Smith, Bernie Sanders, Catherine Cortez Masto and Dianne Feinstein introduced the Clean School Bus Act.
The bill prioritizes clean buses for low-income communities that are the most affected by air pollution. Some states, including New York, Maryland, Nevada and Arizona, are already switching to electric school buses, which not only emit no carbon pollution, but also cut operating costs over the long-term.
This week, show your support of the bill by calling your senators and asking them to support the Clean School Bus Act. You can also sign the petition below, or ask your Governor to support electric school buses here.
