Support Forest Protectors

If we want to solve climate change, we need to support the rights of indigenous peoples and forest communities.

We need to stop deforestation if we want to slow down climate change, and one of the best ways to do that is by supporting the indigenous peoples and forest communities who have been living sustainably in forests for generations. Time and again, researchers have found that indigenous peoples are better at protecting forests than other types of conservation plans.

So, how can non-indigenous people support those groups? There are a few things you can do.

First, just listen to their stories. At link below, check out the participatory documentary, “If Not Us Who?

Next, you can stand in solidarity with indigenous groups that are fighting deforestation and fossil fuel expansion. These kinds of struggles are happening all around the world. Below, you can sign the petition to support women fighting to protect their forests in Indonesia. You can also support other groups at Rainforest Action Network and Amazon Watch.

Finally, you can help raise awareness about this issue. Share links below, our video here or this page with your social networks.
