It’s been a rough couple of months for the Environmental Protection Agency, as it faces both the threat of budget cuts from the White House, and bills from Congress seeking to limit its ability to protect our natural resources. Perhaps most worrying is the bill H.R.637, also known as the “Stopping EPA Overreach Act.”
This bill claims that greenhouse gasses, including carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and hydrofluorocarbons aren’t pollutants. The bill also rolls back regulations on natural gas and carbon emissions, and makes it much for the EPA to take steps to make any new environmental rules in the future.
What’s so scary about this bill is that 120 members of the House of Representatives already endorse it. So please, help us spread the word about this bill, and contact your Representative in the House if you haven’t already.
