Don’t Gut the EPA
House Representative Sam Johnson (R-TX) has introduced a bill that would drastically cut the Environmental Protection Agency’s budget, reduce its ability to fight climate, regulate pollution, close its field offices, stop any environmental justice work and end vehicle emissions standards programs.
All of these services provided by the EPA help protect the U.S.’s clean air and water. Ending them would cause serious harm to human health. It could also lead to catastrophic climate change.
The bill has been referred to four committees. Let’s make sure it doesn’t get any further. Contact Johnson and let him know you don’t approve of his so-called “Wasteful EPA Programs Elimination Act of 2017” or H.R. 958.

You could say something like this:
“Hello, I’m calling to ask Representative Johnson to withdraw his so-called ‘Wasteful EPA Programs Elimination Act of 2017.’ The bill would not only be a disaster for the environment, but it puts the interests of big polluters ahead of the health and safety of American citizens.”
You can also tweet at him. Here’s a sample Tweet:
“Rep. Sam Johnson’s (@SamsPressShop) bill H.R. 958 is a giant giveaway to big polluters. He should do the right thing and withdraw it.”
