Hey guys happy Sunday! By now you probably know that every Sunday I donate my social media to my @YearsofLiving team to talk about carbon pricing! I read some of your comments last week and realized you’re so right- we have to talk about the problem but also about SOLUTIONS! Thank you for your input as it helped in putting together this post! This week is by Clarissa Marconi, a student campaigner for #PutAPriceOnIt. She says some of the things she does in her day to day life to help fight climate change. “When you look at climate change, you see an immense problem that is not only affecting you and I, but the whole world. You see this colossal problem and immediately it becomes so overwhelming, that you don’t even know where to begin. As a result you can feel scared and end up doing nothing, and then feel remorse. You probably feel that whatever you do will not help make a change, but what if I told you that you are not alone and that it does matter?
Today I will be encouraging you to take action just like I have, to help prevent the ongoing detriment of this beautiful place we are lucky to live in. There are many ‘small’ things that you can do in your day to day that will help make a change.
In order to help reduce greenhouse emissions, you can adopt a plant based diet. Throughout the years, I have reduced my consumption of red meat. Additionally, I begun buying locally sourced foods, to reduce carbon transmissions that usually come from lengthy transportation routes. I reuse my grocery bags as trash bags and instead of buying plastic water bottles, I bought an aluminum bottle that I refill. When given the option, I choose to go to restaurants that also practice environmentally friendly habits such as recycling, composting and eco-friendly dish ware.
Finally, I would like for you to join us by supporting putting a price on carbon and the #PutAPriceOnIt campaign, because we need you. Let’s not take our world for granted and let’s start protecting it.”
