Don’t close the EPA.
Yesterday, we brought your attention to a bill that would stop the Environmental Protection Agency from doing its job. Today, we’re asking you to act on a bill that would close the agency altogether.
House Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) introduced H.R. 861 to shutter the EPA. Without the EPA, it will be hard for the U.S. to avoid pumping disastrous levels of greenhouse gas into the air. Gaetz seems to be forgetting that two-thirds of voters in his state of Florida say climate change is a serious problem. We should remind Rep. Gaetz, and ask him to withdraw the bill.
You can say something like this:
“I agree with the two-thirds of Florida Voters who think climate change is a serious problem. I’m calling to ask Representative Gaetz to withdraw his bill to overturn the EPA.”
D.C. office: (202) 223-4136
Florida office: (850) 479-1183
You can also tweet at him. Here’s a sample tweet:
“Two-Thirds of FL voters think climate change is a serious problem. @Rep_Matt_Gaetz should withdraw his bill to overturn the EPA.”
